Pile integrity testing (PIT)

Assessing the Condition of Installed Piles

Pile Integrity Testing (PIT) is a non-destructive testing method used to assess the continuity and overall condition of installed foundation piles. The test helps identify significant defects or changes within a pile that could affect its performance, without causing damage to the completed foundation.

PIT is commonly carried out as part of a project's quality assurance programme and provides engineers with additional confidence that the installed piles have been constructed in accordance with the design requirements.

At a high level, pile integrity testing is used to verify the quality of completed piles and support the successful delivery of piled foundation projects.
