Capital Piling

What is piling, and why do you need it?

Piling is used for a variety of residential building projects, including house extensions, new builds, basement conversions and underpinnings. It’s a technique where long columns (piles) are driven or drilled deep into the ground to reach stable soil layers, creating a solid base to support the weight of your structure.

In areas where the ground is weak, inconsistent, or made up of fill material, piling provides a safer and more stable foundation than traditional shallow footings. It’s also a preferred solution for properties affected by subsidence or where access is limited.

What our residential customers have to say...

Bobby approached us based on a recommendation when his family wanted to add an extension to their residential property. He was delighted with the results of the project, but you don't have to take our word for it; listen to Bobby's experience for yourself! We’re proud that much of our work comes from word-of-mouth referrals and repeat customers.

The three fundamental stages

Commercial and Residential Piling Services | Capital Piling
Piles are installed

Upon mobilisation to the site, we proceed with the installation of the piles into the ground to the specified depth as detailed by the structural engineer, aligning with the layout drawing and based on the chosen piling method for your residential project.

Ground beam or slab installed

After installing the piles, we then commence with the installation of the chosen foundation, either RC ground beam or RC raft. Again, we follow a step-by-step process, closely adhering to plans supplied by the engineer. The next step involves booking your building control inspector to visit the site and "sign off" the works before we move ahead with the concrete.

Concrete is poured and levelled

Once the works are approved, we pour the concrete using the correct mix and equipment. A concrete pump is used to ensure an even and level finish, based on the site levels provided by your builder. We complete a full site cleanup before leaving to ensure everything is safe and tidy.
