Project Description
The project involved the construction of a substantial outbuilding within a residential setting, requiring a foundation solution that combined structural reliability with efficient installation.
SFA Open Bore piling was selected as the primary methodology, with piles installed to an average design depth of approximately 10 metres to achieve the required load-bearing capacity. Anti-heave slip sleeves were incorporated to each pile position as part of the foundation strategy, providing protection against potential ground movement.
Prior to piling works, site preparation was undertaken to ensure safe and efficient access for plant and equipment. Following pile installation, an 80m² reinforced concrete raft slab was constructed in accordance with the engineer’s specification, creating a stable and integrated foundation platform for the new structure. Anti-heave precautions were also incorporated beneath the slab to enhance long-term performance.
