Project Description
The scheme required a low-vibration, efficient foundation solution suitable for a residential setting. In the absence of a site-specific ground investigation report at tender stage, ground conditions were assessed using publicly available geological data.
Excavator-mounted screw piles were selected for their speed of installation, minimal ground disturbance and suitability for restricted access environments. The system allowed for controlled torque monitoring during installation to ensure required load capacity was achieved.
A 250mm thick reinforced concrete raft was constructed across 152m², distributing structural loads evenly across the pile network and providing a stable, integrated foundation platform. Anti-heave precautions were considered as part of the overall foundation strategy.
